Effective Back-links
A key marketing and business strategy for us as entrepreneurs and professionals is for us to get relevant links or connections from each other. Ideally we all need to create backlinks to our websites. A backlink or back-links are incoming links to a website or webpage. The reason these are important is to help our SEO – search engine optimization. The more links you have coming to your site the more credibility you have online. This online credibility gives you and your website an indication of popularity and importance to the search engines. The quality of the link is just as relevant, so make sure and try to focus on local, relevant links. A snowplow repair company in Montana that has a back-link from a restaurant in Florida is not really relevant to the snowplow business. So this example would not be an ideal backlink for the snowplow companies website. An example of a much better back-link would be a local school in Montana that leaves a testimonial or story on the snowplow companies website detailing how this snowplow repair company has kept the school districts plows running well and the school has not been closed a full day yet from the hard work of this snowplow company. This example would be a key backlink for this snowplow company and a much more relevant link in the eyes of the search engines.
So make sure and try to focus on creating key back-links, as the more relevant links you have to your site the more popular it becomes and more important your website is viewed by the search engines. Getting back-links is not as hard as you think and it all starts with a business directory or article directory like EzineArticles.com.
Start with EzineArticles.com and make sure your website is properly displayed and linked to your article on EzineArticles.com. Then obviously make sure the link in your resource box and your article links properly back to your website. The more traffic and back-links we all have, the better for us and the better for the whole directory at EzineArticles.com. Recently, my first article got published in EzineArticles.com and within a few days I already had 4-5 different backlinks published online all linking back to my article. This all builds positive momentum and will eventually drive traffic back to my website thru my resource box and published links of my article. Over time this is a great way to get multiple links back to your website and create the positive momentum of traffic all leading back to your website. This is a prime example of leverage as you are doing something once and receiving a constant benefit from this one effort.
Another KEY back-linking strategy is testimonials and web posts. This is an easy and effective way for you to create a back-link to your website on your own without waiting for any reciprocity. Every time you leave a post on a website or blog you have the opportunity to leave your signature and website URL. Every time you leave a good post or testimonial on a website just add your name and URL and voila, you have just created more relevance and potential traffic back to your website. So spend some time posting and leaving testimonials on sites that are related or relevant to you and your field. Eventually you should have a bunch of back-links all leading back to you and your website. Imagine if you invested 15-20 minutes a day leaving 2-3 posts on various blogs and websites…over the course of a year that could create some amazing traffic and indicate to the search engines that your site is relevant and popular.
So start thinking about helping others as you help yourself, and leave a good testimonial or post on a website today as you continue to grow your business and create a back-link for tomorrow…Most of these backlinks are evergreen and stay on a website for a long time if not forever. This is just another reason why creating effective backlinks is such a key marketing strategy as you are doing something ONCE, to get traffic and potential clients FOREVER.
